Formulation

Stability and Storage

12 months from date of receipt at -20°C to -70°C. After reconstitution,   it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for almost 6 months (with carrier   protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended   storage.

BACKGROUND

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a well-studied growth   factor that serves many critical functions within the central nervous system   (CNS). BDNF has a role in processes such as neuronal maturation, synapse   formation and synaptic plasticity among others in the brain.BDNF is a member   of the neurotrophin family that includes nerve growth factor (NGF),   neurotrophin-3 (NT3), and neutorophin-4 (NT4). BDNF is widely expressed in   the CNS and can exert profound effects on development, morphology, and synaptic   plasticity and function in the brain.

Recombinant Mouse BDNF Protein was determined by SDS-PAGE with   Coomassie Blue.

Measured in a cell proliferation assay using C6 cells. The ED50 for   this effect is 0.1-1 µg/mL.
